2010 Axis Power/Crapsfest Event FAQ's « Thread Started on Jun 12, 2008, 1:07am »
Another year of Axis Power Craps, Crapsfest, Craps Boot Camp and Great American Crapshoot seminars is behind us. Now it's time to look forward to 2010. And yes, there will be some changes made - largely due to the economic downturn and decreased enrollment at the seminars.
For 2010 we've decided to increase the number of "major" events we do from two to three. We'll continue to offer the summertime Great American Crapshoot weekend and the fall CrapsFest weekend - both in Vegas. We're also going to add a Las Vegas Spring Fling seminar to the series for those of you wishing to thaw out from a long, hard winter.
All three of these events will be joint efforts between Heavy of Axis Power Craps, dicesetter.com founder and DI pioneer Irishsetter, and BoneTracker developer and DI extraordinaire Maddog. The format will be somewhat different than those we've hosted previously. Instead of big dealer-school blow outs like we hosted in the past we're going to focus on a smaller team approach that includes individual and small group training on a private table along with organized group lay at the casinos.
For those of you who want a full 90 minutes of face time with Heavy, Irishsetter and Maddog, we'll once again offer 3 on 1 or 3 on 2 sessions that include a toss tune-up, betting strategy review and a BoneTracker review. Due to the limited number of sessions available you can expect these sessions to cost a little more than we've charged in the past. According to previous attendees the sessions are darn well worth the price.
For those of you who prefer group sessions we're putting together a small group program that includes a 3 hour private table training session. We'll shoot for groups of four to six players in each of these sessions. We'll also encourage those of you who want to get more casino time in with specific attendees to register as a group. While there is no requirement to do so, we'll be encouraging those who sign up for these programs to come up with a name for their team - then play together as a team much of the weekend.
The dates for these events are already locked in.
Las Vegas Spring Fling: March 12 - 14, 2010
Las Vegas Great American Crapshoot: July 16 - 18, 2010
Las Vegas CrapsFest: October 15 - 17, 2010
This is all a work in progress, so all of the above - accept the dates - is subject to change. Meanwhile, over the course of the next few months we'll cost these sessions out and post pricing and early-bird registration links. I can tell you that we're going to offer an early bird "Hat Trick" special to anyone who wants to sign on for all three sessions. Hang in there for more details and pricing.
Sandwiched between these big three events will be several smaller Axis Power Craps seminars. At this point we only have one date more or less locked in, and that's the weekend of May 21 - 23, 2010. That seminar will either be held in Biloxi or Tunica, Mississippi. I anticipate a fairly good turn-out for that seminar, so we'll plan on utilizing a dealer school for it. However, if the turnout is not sufficient to justify renting the dealer school for the day we will go "retro" and do the class on genuine Shootitall practice rigs in a hotel meeting room.
We're also looking at the possibility of bringing more of the seminars to the smaller, local markets in 2010. For example, you might see us book a seminar for Shreveport/Bossier, Kansas City, Albuquerque, or the Quad Cities. Due to the lack of dealer schools in these markets these seminars will all be conducted on practice rigs in a hotel meeting room. Trust me. We built this business doing seminars on practice rigs and they work just great.
Sign up for one of these seminars and you'll receive a one hour one-on-one private lesson on Friday plus a three-to-four hour group class on Saturday. The rest of the weekend will be geared toward group play in the casinos.
We will be scaling back on "hook-up" memberships for the seminars in 2010, however we will continue to offer discounts to our Emeritus and Alumni members. Again, look for pricing after the first of the year.
The fees we charge cover the cost of organizing and promoting the event, dealer school rentals as needed, the cost of any handouts and materials provided to attendees. Attendees are on their own for transportation and accommodations.
